Our Story
Our story began just over 8 years ago – yes, that’s how long we have been together!!! We can’t believe where the time has gone… our wedding is something we have spoken and dreamed of for a long time and we cant believe its finally here! So where did it all begin?
We met whilst working together in the same company and there was an instant, undeniable connection between us - Love at First Sight! We felt those funny little things ..you know, pretty , coloured, have small wings….. now what are they called?….. oh yes Butterflies!!!! From being work colleagues our relationship blossomed into the most wonderful, unique and special friendship which has stood the test of time. We have been through thick and thin, sharing some high and of course some low moments – all of which have made us grow together and be stronger than ever.
Proposal
Ameet proposed in the most wonderful, memorable and romantic way,……
We went out one New Year’s Eve, - he was behaving in a very reserved (not like him at all) manner and appeared to be pre-occupied with something on his mind. After asking him serveral times what was wrong he just kept replying “nothing’s wrong”. I soon got fed up with this and in the end we practically had a row!! As we officially started going out with each other on 1st Jan – New Years Eve has always been a very special time for us - as soon as Big Ben starts chiming we celebrate another “anniversary” of being together!!
I decided to go back to our hotel as I had now got into a real strop (as we girls do) and felt so miserable! Ameet came running up behind me, saying he was sorry and accompanied me back to our room – but I was still in a bad mood!!

On opening the door, I very quickly realised what Ameet’s pre-occupation was – The entire room was lit up with hundres of candles, and there, staring in front of me were the words “MARRY ME” – all in fresh Rose Petals! It didn’t stop there…. He then got down on one knee and proposed! I started crying with Joy and the first thing I did was to phone my Mum!! Lol….Suffice to say I felt really bad for being annoyed at him – and he never let me forget it of course!! It was one of the best nights of our life and remains a hugely cherished and special memory.
Two best friends, with a unique and precious friendship are about to exchange some very special vows – and we are thrilled that you will be a witness.
Through this wedding We will be not only be celebrating the union of two our families, but the union of the Hindu and Sikh religions and cultures which we all respect and fully embrace.
